1. How do you begin your day?
Madhuri: With vodka and a cigarette. Ok, not really. I wake up and as soon as I am aware that I am aware, I set an intention for myself for the day. Sometimes it is as simple as ‘Today is a great day!‘ or ‘I love you’.
2. What’s one piece of life changing health advice you can share with others?
Madhuri: Explore the underlying mental and emotional factors related to your current state of health. You are what you think! Your thoughts create your body and your experience in it. Most of your habitual thoughts and underlying belief systems are running the show. They are deep and unconscious and cause havoc. Love is the greatest healer in the universe. Self love is the most powerful drug and will bring you back to peace and balance-your true nature.
3. What’s one thing that gives you hope for the future?
Madhuri: The awareness that I am responsible for my life, my actions and my reactions to everything gives me hope and great freedom (and is also challenging). Through sharing this awareness we are collectively empowered and can help remind one another that we have choice and that life is a beautiful gift and can be lived joyously!
4. Which of your 5 senses is the most powerful, and why?
Madhuri: My sight… so many of my powerful memories are in vibrant image form and these images connect me to my other senses.
5. A moment of beauty that inspired you today?
Madhuri: So many… a baby breast feeding, smiling at a stranger, a boy playing with a dog on the beach, the orange sky and setting sun, the smell of rain, fresh blueberries, witnessing a dear friend cry, a hug, remembering that I am alive on the planet and it is a miracle!
Thank you for the interview, Madhuri. Om Shanti!
